Music Monday - Annie Lennox

This song helped me through some tough times in high school so it resonates with me still. If you've never heard it, I hope you enjoy it.

Fran Walsh, Howard Shore, Annie Lennox
Into the West

Lay down
Your sweet and weary head
Night is falling
You have come to journey's end
Sleep now
And dream of the ones who came before
They are calling
From across a distant shore
Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping

What can you see
On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
All souls pass

Hope fades
Into the world of night
Through shadows falling
Out of memory and time
Don't say
We have come now to the end
White shores are calling
You and I will meet again
And you'll be here in my arms
Just sleeping

What can you see
On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
Grey ships pass
Into the West

I'm Alive!

I'm alive! I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted. Hopefully it won't take so long for the next one. So much has happened I don't even know where to start! Let me think for a minute...Oh I know! Let's start with two amazing men who are going to make two amazing superheroes!

First up is Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern!

Last is Chris Evans as Captain America!

Awwww yeah! I can not wait to see these two kicking some ass! Or to see their asses in those costumes kicking some ass! It's just going to be a lot of ass and it's going to be pure bliss! God they're beautiful! Okay I'll stop drooling now so I can at least finish this post.

I'm going to try school again in January! I'm going to get my associates in Interior Design and then probably finish my bachelors at an out of state school. Preferably a school in California, but we'll see how things go. I'm just finishing up all the admission steps so I can register for classes. I'm kind of excited! I think it will be challenging and fun and allow me to express myself, but also bring joy to other people's lives, which is the best part. A guilty pleasure of mine is HGTV. I watch it all the time! My favorite part of every show is the reveal. I love seeing the client's reaction and the pure joy emanating from their whole being. It's inspiring! I've thought about Interior Design as a career for a long time so I'm finally going to give it a try. Wish me luck!

For those of you who didn't know, this fall I had a routine colonoscopy. Kind of embarrassing. I had to undergo this procedure because one day, out of the blue, my stomach started hurting like Hell! I was at work and had to leave early because I was in the bathroom so much. Even more embarrassing. This was a Sunday, so the only clinics open are InstaCare clinics. I waited forty-five minutes to see a damn doctor! I was pissed! Especially when the doctor told me there's nothing they can do for you here, so you need to go to the ER. I was even more pissed! So I go to the ER and spend six or seven hours there, going through the routine procedures. Getting poked endlessly so they could get the fucking IV in, drink the contrast for the CT Scan, lay around, go to the bathroom, lay around some more, go to the bathroom again, lay around, finally get the CT Scan, and wait some more to be told what the fuck is wrong with me only to find out the CT Scan couldn't show anything, but since there's blood in my stool I have to get a colonoscopy! Luckily throughout all this I had two great guys to help me out and I'm very grateful to them for being there for me. Anyway, I had the colonoscopy and the results from the biopsies were normal. Thank God! The report said it was just a bout of colitis and it will go away over time, but I swear my stomach hasn't been the same. Whatever. Effin' stomach.

Alright I'm all blogged out. I'll post again soon and as always, thanks for reading my insignificant poppycock! Hehe! I said cock.

Happy Christmas!

Christmas was a great time with the family this year! I drove up to my parents on Christmas Eve and my oldest sister and her family came up as well. We had an amazing dinner as always and we say what we are thankful for before we eat. I think this is the first year no one cried while saying what they are thankful for. I'm thankful for my family, friends, job, good health, Sexy, and a good shitload of more stuff!

Anyway, I remember growing up and sometimes I wouldn't be able to eat because the excitement made me sick! My little brother was the same way. We wouldn't be able to sleep either and at 6:30 in the morning we would wake everyone up in the house with our giddiness! Everyone would take their turn in the bathroom and then we'd head to the stairs for the traditional picture of the family sitting on the stairs looking half alive. We still do this tradition and I love it. While sitting on the stairs my dad would go into the family room to look at all the gifts and tease us by saying that Santa didn't come. We knew he was lying! We were always good little shits! Okay not always, but close. He'd tell us when it was time to go into the room and then all Hell broke loose!

Christmas was amazing growing up because of the magic, mystery, and wonder of it all. It's still amazing now that I'm older, but in a different way. We still do all the same traditions, which brings back good memories, but I just love being around family and friends and feeling the love for everyone and their love for me. It's one of the best feelings in the world!

Okay okay! Enough reminiscing! I got Smallville Season 8, LOST Season 5, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince all on DVD. Can't wait to catch up on those shows! I got some iTunes giftcards, cash, candy, and some books in hardcover that I've been wanting. Good presents! The only thing that would've made it better would've been to be with Sexy. I missed him a lot. At least I'll get to be with him on New's Year! Yes!

Oh, one more thing! We went and saw Sherlock Holmes and it was great! A fun movie and I must say that Jude Law is one beautiful man! So here's a pic! Happy Christmas and New Year!

Okay so I couldn't pick just one. He's just that delicious!

Avatar

One more thing before I don't post for a few days, go see Avatar! It's an amazing, powerful film! I want to see it again. James Cameron has a way of drawing you into his films where you become so immersed in the worlds he's created it's hard to come back to reality.

Pandora, the world in Avatar, is very hard to leave and it's beauty is breathtaking. You want to stay and discover everything you can about it. I wish the movie would have been longer than it's already three hour length just to continue to be inspired and see things I've never seen before.

Anyway, don't expect too much from my words because if you go see it, I don't want it to fail in comparison. Go in with low expectations and that should help.

Enjoy the movie and let me know what you think!

Merry Christmas again!

Team Edward

With the world's current obsession with all things undead I've decided to dedicate a post to the one undead who's captured the hearts of millions of girls, women, and some men. Although many would claim a certain furry alternative is a better choice, I still stand next to the pale-skinned, sparkles in the sun vampire, Mr. Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson. He's the one who started it all and in my opinion Robert Pattinson is far sexier than Taylor Lautner. I'm not saying Mr. Lautner is not attractive, he's extremely attractive! I just think Robert Pattinson's unique looks give him an edge Taylor Lautner lacks. Not to mention Robert Pattinson is English, which adds even more to his appeal.

Yes, Pattinson can look like he just woke from a drunken night of fun sometimes, but look at this year's Sexiest Man of the Year, Johnny Depp. He's not the most attractive man, but there's an appeal to him that draws people to him. He dresses funny, has had his fair share of weird hairstyles and fashion sense, but people can't get enough. Johnny Depp is sexy in a way no one else is and I think Robert Pattinson falls into that category as well. There's just something about him.

So I am all for Team Edward! At least the man who portrays him. And what's a post without some pictures? Hope you enjoy them!

Fall Movies I Want to See

There's one thing I love to do and that is going to the movies, especially if it's a long anticipated film. I love the packed theater and the anticipation in the air. I love when everybody screams, laughs, or cries at the same time. It makes the movie more enjoyable when everybody in the audience is on the same wavelength.

I love movies that hold me in awe or inspire me. Movies that make me feel something deep. So since I love movies so much I decided to share with you my 10 most anticipated movies this Fall. They're in no particular order.

1. 9 - The new film produced by Tim Burton. Looks very unique and has a great cast.

2. The Road - Based on the book by Cormac McCarthy who wrote No Country for Old Men.

3. New Moon - Sequel to Twilight featuring Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen. Mmmm.

4. Fame - A remake musical that I'm sure will make a lot of people famous.

5. Where the Wild Things Are - Based on the children's book that I loved as a child.

6. New York, I Love You - If you saw Paris, Je T'aime and loved it like I did you should see this. It's the same idea.

7. Nine - Not to be confused with 9. This one's a musical with an amazing cast.

8. Extract - A comedy with Jason Bateman. Enough said.

9. The Informant - Stars Matt Damon. Enough said.

10. Precious - A film that got great praise at Sundance. Has Mariah Carey in it.

I encourage you to watch the trailers for any of these films if they pique your interest at all.
